THE L.H. CHOONG SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Born in 1947, L.H. Choong was a successful businessperson and early pioneer in the direct selling industry in Malaysia and later in the neighboring regions.
Work life had given LH the opportunity to work for a multinational American company, opening the door to travels far and wide. Experiencing new cultures and places made LH appreciate the diversity and familiarity in food, soon making LH a true foodie and wine connoisseur before it was fashionable to be one.
Sadly, LH passed away in 2021. Much too soon. LH lived a full life, loved and respected by many.
LH was a leader, a mentor and a pioneer to those who knew him in business. To his family, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In establishing these scholarships, the Choong family would like to continue remembering and sharing LH’s love of food and wines as well as creating mentorship and growth opportunities for others working in the wine industry.
Grand Cru

Complimentary company logo featured on our website under the “Grand Cru” category for a full calendar year from the date of donation with priority access to AWF hosted events such as wine seminars and wine dinners. Also an exclusive partnership with AWF for donor sponsored events and dinners with invitation to sommelier conferences.
